With reference to Foreign Offics letter No. 7216/10/23 of the 26th ultimo, I am directed by Earl Curron of Kedlest to transmit, herewith, copy of a despatch from His Kajesty's Ambassador at Faris in which Lord Derby suggests that it might be better, in the circumstances, not to call the attention of the French Government to the reported intention of Japan to occupy the Paracels Islands and Reefs.
Lord Curzon is accordingly of the opinion that it would be better to take no further action in the matter
for the present.
Begretary
of the Admiralty.
sir,
Your most obedient,
humble Servant,
